I kinda forget sometimes, in my dreamy day to day functions, that i should stick to my mandate.
People drift, you know, and so I apologize for not talking a whole lot about music, as I promised in my original post.
So, lately, it's been hip hop.
I went to Illite's release party at Alvin's last Saturday night with a couple friends and it was pretty chill, albeit a little awkward as I was pretty blitzed when I got there at like, 10pm.
I enjoyed performances from Illite himself, Nick Speed --- oh MAN his beats are so TIGHT and mmmmm chill -- as well as Asylum 7 (whose name SOUNDS crazy but really he is one of the most sane, stable people I've gotten to know of late). heard Magest Leg up there too, and it was cool, but I can't lie: I was hoping to see the whole subterranneous crew all together.
........
Now I understand that people get beefy or all bent out of shape sometimes, and I know what it's like to be mad at someone for a while, to the point of not forgiving OR forgetting. But I learned something sort of important recently: People don't HOLD grudges, they create new ones every day.
Remember what I was just saying about trust and betrayal?
Anyway...
Another sweet event I wasn't at that I wish I WAS at was "Free crack and everyone gets laid" this past Tuesday at the Works. G.O.D. > Blank Artists Vacuum and E.Spleece played alongside my friend Kero... those three artists together make up for about half of my favourite local electronic artists. Kero does "IDM" & lately dubstep, while G.O.D. is a perfect blend of minimal, electro and house. Seriously, they're so fucking good, one of my fave memories is dancing to them until the early morning last new year's eve with my friend Andrea.
I should do some work or something.
Be back for more, later.
Oh wait! I guess I could mention that TONIGHT at Phog Lounge, kero's playing with DNME, SubMental, and WHY ME as it's the event "Denial VS Phog Lounge" --- Denial's art's on the wall and we be takin over Phog with electronic SHIZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hell yeah:D
