New Detroit Radio And Minced Meat Every Sunday!

Sunday's are LIVE on the radio. Didn't get enough music on the weekend? Wanna hear that track you heard that great DJ spin, and get some background info on it (or at least the name of the artist)?

I've got TWO solutions for you:
1)Check out New Detroit Radio!
Hosts are Doc Raymond and Harley from Detroit. You can tune in 24/7 for the stream, and on Sundays 9pm - 1am for the Live show.
They play house, techno, trance, drum and bass, minimal, breaks, ambient, electronica, and electro.

2) Minced Meat is still on every Sunday night as well, of course, from 12-2am on CJAM 91.5FM, with local hip hop and electronica, but I just wanted you all to be in on the goods.

On another note...

I was talkin' with a friend last night at the FAM Fest Post Party, and he was tellin' me just how important it is to be a 'tastemaker' of sorts when I'm choosing what tracks to play on the show.

He's right: the on-air studio is like a laboratory of sorts, of course, where I put together a list of tracks that, when you hear them, will chemically modify your brain and you will always enjoy that track. Sort of like crack! That's why I so carefully select every song you hear. They subliminally influence you to only listen to whatever I play on my show. Then you go out and buy the record, and end up supporting local music.

I guess the secret's out...

;)

So don't forget to tune in tonight! Oh wait, you won't. You're chemically addicted to that shiz.

FAM FEST POST PARTY THIS WEEKEND!

It's the Post-Party for the FAM Festival! The offical after-jam, a small-scale appreciation party for you, our friends and some of our favourite FAM musicians.

Get to the Dominion House early! To start things off, Sean "The Sponge" Hickey (Hip Hop), High Mother (Psyche-Rock), Death or Comber (Indie/acoustic/Punk/Rock), and The Interior Project (Electronic + Acoustic guitar/singer), @ 3PM. If it's nice, it'll be OUTDOORS on the DH's patio, AND it's all ages, so you can bring your lil' bro and sis, or your hip great aunt.

(It's still all-ages if it's indoors.
)

For the night owls, we're continuing the party in the basement of the DH, formerly known as THE DUNGEON.

Starting at 10PM, hear fresh beats from FURS(electro-niceties), Academy (Windsor's finest Hip Hop act), The Lyricists (fun-lovin' lyrical kings) and the ever-impressive Nick Speed (Libido Sounds/ Money Management Group).

Here are some videos for your continued interest and entertainment.

Nick Speed: Beat Battlin': (yep, those r his beats folks. bounce to it)

Preparing Minced Meat

Throw in sweet and spicy electronica, equal parts IDM, glitch hop, house, trip hop
Add 2 local emcees (alive)
A fistful of various show flyers
Salty Detroit Hip Hop
A touch of herb

Blend well, coat with glaze, let it cool off for 5 minutes (gotta leave room for PSAs).

Enjoy!

12-2am on CJAM 91.5fm, with AKA & Text of P.O.D.
