Remember....

...How I asked, "Who was the first electronic artist from Detroit to be signed to WARP Records?"

The answer is... to the best of my knowledge.... K-HAND! I did some discogs cross-referencing, and though K-Hand doesn't detail the Warp release on her own discography, it was the closest I could find. The WARP 55 album is called Global Warning and was released in 1994 under the original license of K-Hand's own Acacia Records which is based out of Detroit.

Though she has released work under multiple aliases and forged her own empire by creating and re-working a number of labels, Kelli is currently working closely with Kero of Detroit Undeground and releasing split EP's with the label KEROHAND. Love the name.

Next on that list is Jimmy Edgar, unless you count Richie Hawtin, who released "Train-Tracs" and "Dimension Intrusion" in 1993 under the moniker F.U.S.E., with Train-Tracs being an entirely ambient album that he put together with his brother Matthew. Though it's true that Richie took a lot of inspiration from Detroit, I wanted to be technically correct -- Richie was born in Windsor, while Kelli Hand is homegrown Detroit crop.
