Last Sunday night, my good pal Murad aka DJ ME of CJAM's Productive Confusion filled in for me as I drove up to my mom's and hit up Toronto for an interview at Humber College for one of their programs I'd like to attend.
Here's what Murad played, as well as an interview from Crown Nation's producer and emcee Denmark Vessey. Download it here!

Interview with Invincible + Dilla Dedication
Check out The Revival at The Fembassy as directed by Invincible! She'll be rockin a Detroit Music Showcase at SXSW (check out her Sledgehammer vid featured there last year) in March with Emergence Music, as well as holding it down at The Foundation with Ma Dukes this Tuesday at Elements Gallery.
You can also catch her via Detroit Summer February 17th at Oakland University and keep an ear to the ground for a new album from her (hopefully soon!) with Wajeed. Stoked for that one!
Props on a great interview. And great tracks!
No wonder. J Dilla's legacy is now stronger than ever. I have discovered that the more people find out about his contributions to Hip Hop musically, the more people's minds are changed about what Hip Hop is. It helps that his colleagues and contemporaries do not cease to impress listeners, having absorbed some part of the man's music that spoke to them, and injecting that into their own styles... and building up a higher standard for music-making in this age of the producer. I think it's sweet that artists still rock his beats, I plan to explore more of them and continue to play definitive local music. [Bright] Kadence Interview
Kadence, as he is quite amazing in many ways. He uses his lyrical talents to inform you - the listener - and give you fuel to fight against the ever-imposing powers that take away from natural human evolution, that force people to think that feeling alienated is natural. He makes a lot of sense out of this musical landscape. I wish we'd had time to talk about the concept of "real" on the air, a metaphysical concept that pretends to be manifested in a social group. Well, that's sort of my take on his explanation. Really, everything is subjective anyway, so leave your opinion in the comments.
